I’m starting this blog because on Thursday our 15 month old son, Noah, came in to have a CT scan done on his belly for a hard spot just under the ribcage. That was Thursday…it’s now Sunday and we are faced with the fact that our son has Hepatoblastoma – a rare form of liver cancer found in children under 5.
Noah is a beautiful boy who loves to play and sing…and that’s where the idea for the title came from. He is a healthy, vibrant, stubborn little boy. He showed no signs or symptoms of cancer…just a knot in his belly.
Now, this little “bruiser” is faced with chemotherapy that starts on Tuesday. This will be a very long process.
It’s late and I’m tired so I will put in all of the details tomorrow. I hope to chronicle all of our family’s trials on this blog for a couple of reasons:
-
People are going to be asking “what happened” a whole lot. Maybe they can just read this and come up to speed.
-
I hope to give whatever information I can gather to other families to help
-
We can keep up with what we’ve been doing
Hopefully, with everything going on, I can keep up with the blog. We’ll have to see.
God Bless,
Doug
We all love you all very much and want to do whatever we can to help in anyway….no matter how small it seems. Noah and all of you are in our prayers! May God let you know daily he’s there…and so are we….Love ya Jane

I don’t know your family, however I am friends with Dana Taylor. Dana told me about your son and asked her friends to pray. It doesn’t matter that we don’t know each other. We are still brothers and sisters in the Lord. If you need anything, please don’t hesitate to ask. My husband and I will be praying for Noah’s healing, In Jesus Name! God is much bigger than cancer and Noah will be healed. If we all stand and believe that, it will come to pass. One day, this will be a great testimony that Noah will be able to tell and help other people by speaking on how God healed his body. I pray for healing for Noah and I pray that peace will fall over you and your family.
God Bless,
Holly

Doug,
My thoughts and prayers are with you and your family. Remember that god does not put more on you than you can handle and Noah will come through this just fine. Stay positive and we will keep the prayers going.
God Bless,

Hi Doug,
I had to spread a little good cheer and hope to you, as my family went through something similar this time last year. My 3 yr old nephew (he was 2 at the time) was diagnosis with neuroblastoma (stage 4) cancer and had a tumor near his liver. (fortunately it had not attached itself to any organs) The doctors decided it needed to be surgically removed. Carson has had MANY tests this last year, and his 1 year check-up was 2 weeks ago and the cancer has stayed away!! Believe in prayer and family, I know Noah will make it through!! Please share with Crystal as I know this is tough for her too! I will keep Noah and you and your family in my prayers!

I will keep you and your family in my prayers. As you know, God works miracles every day and He has already started with Noah. God is also working with you and Crystal because you both decided to fight. One of my favorite scriptures is Phillippians 4:13 “I can do all things through Christ which strengtheneth me.”
