I just wanted to give a quick update before I go to sleep for the night…
We are now up in 7 West. They moved us up here at about 8 tonight. Noah no longer has the catheter, NG tube, or arterial line. We’re down to just his port access, an IV, and the JP drains coming out of his incision.
Technically, Noah is on fluids, but he’s really only getting ice chips…which he really doesn’t like. I tell you, that boy wants some pizza.
The kid loves pizza and cookies…which is pretty much all he’s eaten for the last couple of weeks. We were trying to bulk him up for surgery. It looks like it worked.
So…no repeats of last night. It was a little toughter today than yesterday (during the day anyway) but a lot of that has to do with the fact that Noah’s feeling better. He wants to go somemwhere…anywhere.
I’ve got to say thanks again to the Kosair PICU staff. They took great care of us…even with last night on the books. Thanks specifically to Erin, Marla, Kate-Lynn, and Dr Hardin for everything. You guys rock.
Thanks to all of you for your emails, calls, support, and prayers. I know that we’d be lost withouth them.
God Bless,
Doug
